RICCARDO TESI TURNS 60 – BELLA CIAO GOES WOMEX!

Just on time for his upcoming 60th birthday on July 22, Riccardo Tesi has plenty of reasons to be happy: Italian ethnomusicologist Neri Pollastri has recently presented his biography UNA VITA A BOTTONI. Concerts and tours with his main projects  Banditaliana, Bella Ciao and the accordion quintet Samuraï will lead the Tuscan accordion master all across Europe during the summer months. And the special birthday news is that Riccardo’s present success story Bella Ciao featuring Lucilla Galeazzi and Elena Ledda has been selected for a showcase at this years WOMEX in Santiago de Compostela. Auguri maestro!

A TIME OF FAREWELLS…

The first six months of this year have been a time of farewells:

At the beginning of April Juan Carlos Cáceres lost the fight against his cancer, and in May Renato Borghetti’s duo partner Artur Bonilla died in a car accident in Brazil, just after the return from his first successful tour in Europe.

The international accordion collective Samurai have stopped working together, and we have ended our collaboration with Martin Lubenov und Maja Osojnik.
